CRC Salutes Our Non-Profit Partner, Food Finders
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, California food banks have seen an unprecedented level of demand, an increase of over 70%. Our partner, Food Finders, whose mission is to eliminate hunger and food waste throughout Southern California, is helping by providing the City of Long Beach with 12,500 meals for distribution centers; keeping senior citizens safe by delivering 100 bags of food to senior residential apartments; and working with The FarmLink Project to transport over 1 million pounds of produce and dairy to families in need.
In addition, CRC LA Basin Reservoir Engineer, Ryan Kwong has been a board member for Food Finders for four years. With spiking demand for food banks due to the pandemic, Food Finders has been in urgent need of volunteers. Last month, Ryan and his wife Coco Shen helped prepare and pack meals for residents in senior living homes.
